Happy New Year!

inzilbethI just received an email from a farming friend wishing me a happy New Year, and specifically, one free from floods, droughts and plagues!
It made me realise we farmers really do send far too much of our lives worrying about exactly these things. Seems like there is always either too much rain or too little and there's on end to the deadly illnesses on the horizon set to invade and apparently wipe out all the stock. Such are the joys of rearing animals!
Maybe this year will be different. So, as Shakespeare once said [though don't ask me where] may your ewes graze and your lambs suckle!
