LotR Quotes

This idea has come from Linda's journal.

When you see this, post another LOTR quote in your lj. Character is your choice, pic is optional.

It has to be Aragorn, of course, but, although there are so many great lines, this is the one that gets me every time.

Then a great beauty was revealed in him, so that all who came after there looked on him in wonder; for they saw that the grace of his youth, and the valour of his manhood, and the wisedom and majesty of his age were blended together. And long there he lay, an image of the splendour of the Kings of Men in glory undimmed before the breaking of the world.

And this is my favourite photo. To me,this IS sad and grim Aragorn!

*deep sigghhhhhhh* Such a lovely picture of him ... very much Aragorn at his grimmest grim and saddest sad, yes.

"And long there he lay, an image of the splendour of the Kings of Men in glory undimmed before the breaking of the world."

I think this is one of the most lyrical descriptions in all of Tolkien. Wow. But I have to watch how often I read that passage, or I get too sad thinking of all that glory gone forever. *sniff*

Oh I so agree with you. If you really lose yourself in these passages, they are just heart-breaking.
