Well, I couldn't really let the day pass by without acknowledging Viggo's 50th and ROTK's 53rd!
Just how fated could any man have been to play the king?

There's been a couple of newspaper articles about him over here - he's preparing an exhibition atm and is to celebrate his birthday at his aunt's near Roskilde - and he doesn't look half bad for 50 ...

I was thinking the same thing. Add the stubble and the long dark hair and I can see him as Aragorn again if Del Toro asks him.

Unfortunately, Viggo said in some of the interviews that he was going to stop making movies for a while and concentrate on other things. :-(

Yes, but he has also said he doesn't want anyone else to play Aragorn. I don't think he'll be able to resist it if offered, do you?

Oooh, those are lovely pics! I hadn't seen the one of him as king, holding his hand over his heart ... that's one of the few I actually like of him in his "King Elesser" get up. And I've always loved the one where he's kneeling amongst all the white flowers ...

Ahhh .... very nice. Now I need to get back to real life stuff, but I had to check out the Viggo b-day posts everywhere. LOL

They really are outstanding pictures of him--very evocative of all that Aragorn is, I think.

And yes, RL isn't going so badly after all. I might even see a light at the end of the tunnel that isn't an oncoming train! LOL

Happy birthday ROTK and Viggo. That is indeed a most wonderful coincidence.

And I couldn't now imagine anyone else playing Aragorn. Viggo made the role his, period.

And I'm sure he won't say no to incarnating Aragorn again.
