Aragorn sketch

Almut has asked to see more of the sketch in my icon so here it is. It's only a small, inexpensive watercolour that I bought on ebay but I rather liked the intensity of Aragorn's stern gaze and the fact that it wasn't obviously copied from a still from the movies which so many of these things are.

Here is the ebay listing with the artist's name and the full pic which is about the same size as the actual thing.

That's beautiful! I really like his stern gaze here, too - very Aragorn-ish! ;-) That's not Viggo at all, but I love the artist's alternative version of Aragorn. Very nice! :) Thanks a lot for posting it!

I'm glad you liked it. No, it isn't really Viggo, it's much more Aragorn which is probably why I liked it too.

As much as I love Viggo's Aragorn, I also enjoy seeing a non Viggo-ish take on Aragorn from time to time. ;-) It's always fun to see an artist's vision of Aragorn... though I have to admit there are many I just don't like that much. :)

I couldn't agree more! Aragorn after all is so much more than just Viggo, but I too find some of the artist's interpretations a bit weird to say the least. I'll keep posting some of the best and some of the worst!

It's very intense isn't it; I'm glad to liked it. There are so many artists selling these things on ebay, I would simply approach one whose work you like. They all seem to be very reasonably priced.
